Draft Beer in Midtown Carmel: Where the Tap Lists Run Deepest
Published October 19, 2026
We've done a wine post, an Old Fashioned post, and an espresso martini post. It was time beer got its turn. From 101 Craft Kitchen at the south end of Rangeline up to Main Street, there’s a pint for just about everyone. It ranges from an 18-tap craft board to a pub with nine handles. One spot will bump any beer up to 22 ounces for a buck. And the best callout on the list sits a six-minute bike ride outside Midtown.
The Deep Lists
101 Craft Kitchen — 1200 S. Rangeline. If variety is the goal, start here. The board runs 18 taps deep and reads like a tour of the Midwest and beyond. On the board right now: 3 Floyds Munsterfest, Dogfish Head Punkin, Sierra Nevada’s wet-hop Northern Hemisphere, Great Lakes Nosferatu, Boulevard Tank 7, a peanut butter porter from DuClaw, an Ash & Elm cider, and Guinness on nitro. Pours run about $6.50–$9. They post the live list online, so you can check it before you go.
Sun King Carmel — 351 Monon Blvd. It’s a brewery, so of course it’s solid. Around 19 Sun King beers are on draft, plus non-alcoholic options, with most pints at $7. A $10 flight gets you any four. Start with the staples: Osiris, an assertive West Coast–style pale ale with a citrus hop punch, and Wee Mac, a malty Scottish-style ale with caramel and toffee notes. Then branch out to the taproom-only pours, like an Imperial Lupulin Astronaut brewed for the Alpha King Challenge and a coffee-infused Oktoberfest called Bavarian Breakfast. For something slower, Razzleblaster spent 18 months in Pinot Noir barrels, and the barrel-aged Drop Shot stout comes in at 12.3%.
Fork + Ale House — 350 Veterans Way. Fork + Ale brews its own beer, and the house list runs eight beers plus a rotator, most at $6.50–$7. There’s the Hopping Hound West Coast IPA, a Maui IPA with pineapple and mango, Winking Cedar Brown, a Bagpiper Scottish ale, a Black Cherry Vanilla cream ale, and the award-winning Pilsner by Nature. Guest drafts like 3 Floyds Zombie Dust and a rotating stout round out the board. A $9 flight gets you four house beers, and any beer goes to 22 ounces for $1.
The Pub Pours
Woody’s Library Restaurant — nine drafts, $6–$8, and almost half of them are from Indiana. You’ll find BIER Brewery’s Kolsch, Sun King Sunlight, Daredevil Liftoff, and 3 Floyds Zombie Dust next to Bell’s Two Hearted, Fat Head’s Head Hunter, and Guinness. Ask about the features.
The Goat — 220 2nd St. SW. The Goat has the same owners as Danny Boy Beer Works, so most of the taps are Danny Boy beer. Recent pours have included the Hand of God IPA and the Mexicali. The list isn’t posted online, so stop in and see what’s on.
Muldoon’s — 111 W. Main. Nine taps with an Irish lean, which fits a pub that’s been here since 1981. Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s, and Magners pear cider sit alongside Bell’s Two Hearted, Stella Artois, Blue Moon, Yuengling, and Coors Light.
BuffaLouie’s — 43 W. Main. A smaller tap lineup that isn’t posted online, but it’s made for a cold beer and a basket of wings.
A Good Pint With Dinner
Garden Table — a small but respectable list. There are seven drafts, and the craft side leans local: Rhinegeist Truth IPA, 3 Floyds Gumballhead, Four Day Ray’s Blood Orange Blonde out of Fishers, and Guggman Haus’s hazy The Riverside from Indianapolis. Modelo and Michelob Ultra cover the easy-drinking side. Athletic’s Run Wild is on draft too, which isn’t common: a non-alcoholic IPA on tap. Ask about the rotating handle.
Savor, 1933 Lounge, Anthony’s Chophouse, Lone Pine, and SALT, along with plenty of other Midtown restaurants, all have beer on tap. Beer isn’t the main event at these places, but if you’re there for dinner and want a beer, you can get a good one. If your go-to spot isn’t named here, it’s not a snub. Tell us what’s pouring and we’ll check it out.
Worth the Ride: Moontown Brewing
Moontown is just outside Midtown, at 1000 W. Main St. under The Signature Apartments. It’s about a six-minute bike ride from Savor. The Carmel taproom opened in August 2024. Expect a rotating house lineup that includes the “Heady” hazy double IPA series and the Pints for Parks series, which honors Indiana’s state parks. There’s no kitchen, so bring your own food (snacks are on hand). The patio is pet-friendly, and it’s 21 and over. Regulars can join the $100 Beer Club for $2 off pours all year.
Last Call on Gradle Drive: Union Brewing
Union Brewing Company — 202 Gradle Dr., right off the Monon. Union is small, it’s Carmel’s only woman-owned brewery, and it’s one of our favorite places in Midtown. It’s also our Thursday cornhole spot. Owner Jessica Hayden and brewer Derek Herring brought brewing back in-house after Herring bought the place in 2023. Herring calls it “the garage bar you went to with your dad,” and that’s exactly what it feels like.
The building is being cleared for redevelopment, so Union plans to stay put until its lease runs out on Nov. 28. It hopes to reopen about a week later, roughly a mile north at 513 Industrial Dr., according to Current. The new space is double the size, with a family-friendly dining area, a stage for bigger live-music acts with a mezzanine overlooking it, and a chef subleasing space to serve food like barbecue and homemade flatbreads. They’re planning a send-off party before they leave Gradle Drive, so go get a pint at the old place while you can.
We’re Mug Club members, so this one’s personal. My wife’s go-to is the Sexi Mexi, and mine is the new Hob Knob Ex Pale Ale. We’ll give Union its own post once the new location is up and running.
Tap lists change weekly, so take the beers named here as a snapshot from mid-October. Start your crawl at 101, then work your way north. Add your favorites to your CarmelBuzz Map, and let us know what we missed.
This one is a companion to our wings post, since most of these taps sit a few steps from a basket of wings. Pair the two and you have a game-day plan. Next up, we’re taking on burgers in Midtown, so stay tuned.
